The Wand Medical Centre is still open, but the way we can all access healthcare during the Covid-19 pandemic has changed. In order to ensure the safety of all our patients and staff our doors remain closed and we ask all our patients not to visit the practice without speaking with a member of the practice team first. Most queries can now be dealt with over the telephone which mitigates risk and saves you time. In order to further support patients during this difficult time, a health app for Birmingham and Solihull patients is available. It is free to download from the Apple or Google Play Stores and is very easy to use.

You can also visit:https://app.birminghamandsolihullhealthapp.com

The app is secure and links directly with your GP practice. You can order your repeat medication via the app 24 hours per day. You can also check any symptoms you may have. The app will then give you access to the right type of advice / appointment. Download the app now so it is at your fingertips when needed.

Named GP

All out patients have a ‘named GP’ who is responsible for their care.

From 1 April 2015, practices are contractually required to allocate a named, accountable GP to all patients (including children).

Having a ‘named GP’ does NOT prevent you from seeing your GP of choice.

Patients are entitled to choose to see any GP or nurse in the practice in line with current arrangements.

We have allocated all our patients to a ‘named GP’ by simply using our patient’s surname / family name.

Your surname / family name begins with the following letters

Your ‘Named GP’

A – C

Dr J Taylor

D - J

Dr E Hamilton

K - O

Dr O Okonkwo

P - Z

Dr A Zaman
